The NPE Legacy – A Journey That Began in 1985

In 1985, a bold new chapter unfolded for Mr. Daniel Lazar and Mrs. Sosamma Lazar, two visionary individuals who dared to dream big. Leaving the familiarity of their homeland behind, they stepped foot in the United Arab Emirates, driven by a relentless passion to create a brighter future for their young family. With faith and determination, they navigated the unknown, embracing the challenges and seizing the vast opportunities that this new land had to offer.

With the increase in number of families arriving in Ajman, from across the world, the Lazars realised the growing need for quality English-language education. Without further hesitation, Madam Sosamma Lazar got to work teaching both expats and locals, initially at their very own home. It was a modest start, but little did they know that their one small school would grow into a network of schools. In 1985, Mr. Daniel Lazar (Founder) and Madam Sosamma Lazar opened the Little Flower Nursery in Ajman under The Lazar Group (TLG) with the tagline, ‘Educators at Heart’, from where they spanned out to a full-fledged school which is flourishing today, as The Royal Academy school, an Indian curriculum school.

In the years that followed, building on his parents' legacy, Mr. Lanson Lazar (Chairman) along with Ms. Sandra Blaskovic (CEO) infused their practical expertise with their own visionary spirit, setting up more new schools, The Bloomington Academy, Ajman (the first British curriculum school in Ajman) and The Hope English School, Sharjah (British curriculum), under the flagship North Point Education (NPE). From humble beginnings rooted in a family of educators, NPE has today become a world class education provider in the Northern Emirates with more than 4000 students of 64 different nationalities.

With a legacy spanning more than four decades, we remain committed to our core purpose: bridging the gap to quality education for diverse learners in the Northern Emirates. This mission is the heartbeat of our organisation, just as it was when my parents first set foot in Ajman in 1985. Today, we take immense pride in our schools' exceptional standards, our dedicated teachers, and the vast opportunities we provide for the young minds entrusted to our care. We recognise that choosing an NPE school is a deliberate decision, one that parents make with careful consideration to their children's well-being. We are deeply humbled and grateful for the trust placed in us, and we strive to validate and honour that choice every day, in every school, and with every student. At the heart of every NPE school is a deep commitment to values that guide and inspire us, with kindness, respect, empathy, and compassion as the foundations upon which exceptional individuals are moulded for a better tomorrow.
